A Different Kind of Thanksgiving Ritual written by Dr. Susan Bauer-Wu and published in Thoughts from the Lawn (UVa Blog).
Representatives from the Compassionate Care Initiative and the Contemplative Sciences Center attended the International Symposium for Contemplative Studies in Boston, MA for an enriching three days of sessions led by neuroscientists, contemplative pactitioners, clinicians, educators and other professionals.

First year CNL and second year undergraduate nursing students were invited to Morven Farms for a resiliency day. These retreats included restorative practices such as meditation, reflective writing, mindful walking and eating. Jonathan Bartels, Esther Lozano and Susan Bauer-Wu led the CNL retreat, while Betty Mooney and Susan Bauer-Wu led the second year retreat.
